Cattelan Praise & Kardashian Bashing.

Maurizio Cattelan will be showing until 1.22.2012 at the Guggenheim. If you need encouragement to go, don't bother.

A bit like veggies before T.V. yeah? I wish it weren't that way, but you fucking smartphone users are hard to reel in. Anyhoo....
If you know that I exist, you know that I spend an inordinate amount of time hating the Kardashians. Not so much them personally, but what they stand for, are paving the way for and their efforts in cultivating mediocrity at a voracious rate, their nonchalance about making one's own way etc....

Another pearl has come to me via Google News in the way of the Kardashians are "shocked" about their clothing being made in sweatshops. BAHH! These lazy cunts won't even put on their own bras, much less look into the welfare of others, especially those toiling away so their Botox doesn't run amok. (No won't is correct. It implies a decision, not a matter of can or can't. Fuck off, I know I am not well.)

It pains me to not beg of you to shield your eyes and children from these fucking genital warts carriers, but the followers of these slags will no doubt suffer an earlier death due to life style and sheer stupidity, hence clearing the way for my cherry picking of land and air come post apocalypse, so consume their diet pills, read their "books" use their credit cards, instill in yourself that an ass with the girth of Kansas will take you places, (the most familiar will be to brown man's bed.) The sooner you are off my radar the better, but if you choose wisely and decide to live for yourself and defeat these loquacious wax whores, give your self an extra helping of fuck yeah, because you have crossed over into common sense and a non psychotic space. Welcome.

Boys Don't Cry...

Today is dark horse day. So that equates to Rick Owens & Egon Schiele. (Pronounces SHEE-luh!!!!) I jones over Rick Owens & his ability to transform clothing into the exact angst and sadness I carried around like a badge in my youth and how I when I was homeless, I would realize that my wardrobe in later years was not only avant garde and not featuring a filthy junkie, but a chic, forward thinking unfortunate trend setter. (Bumming smokes in front of the No Tell Motel doesn't seem so degraded now does it?)
I love dressing to feel like a dark villainous super hero, and when I acquire a disposable income, I will buy everything in open space from Rick Owens. Physically, the guy is Iggy Pop, Marc Jacobs & fucking Maynard cosmic combo. Jesus Christ.

Egon Schiele has been my childhood comrade in depression, anger and all of the things I didn't understand so I painted and wrote about them instead. Schiele paved the way for me to do this. It's not so much about the obvious angles, absent interpretations and pinky out kind of energy that folks want to exude when talking about this artist, it's what isn't being said. In the same way that attracts one to a partner in the beginning, the unknown, what they don't say is what makes you bite.
I love all of the things entwined in what I take away from his work that no one else sees and leaves me in a isolated yet validated space about identification with this or that. Do yourself a favor and do the same. Self appraisal should be performed alone before one's arrogance is off the leash with no goal in site. Reel in it for fuck's sake.
Remember to breathe today, it can all change within seconds.

You most likely didn't make the cut.

Addiction includes all facets, everything is swallowed and gathers momentum. Whether it be tangible, conceptual or otherwise. My inspirations, gravitational inclination towards particular authors, musicians and artists are no different. Fixes only certain folk can fill.
Winter, cold months & the forced remembrances that come with this time of year have left me in a capitulated state. I feel obliged to indulge that piece even though I would rather not. My usual MO is to fight, however, this time I won't. I instead will make a lengthy montage of all of the people that have held onto me from childhood and had more than just a hand in forming me into the person you see today and with any luck, will change daily.
Now you're inside. Don't stay too long.
